Category: Application Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Steven DeWitt (stevendewitt) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Accented characters break search function Initial Comment: When I search in my FR>EN project for, e.g., "contrôle" or "tâches" in the source ("Case-sensitive" unchecked, "In source" checked), I get zero results even if I copy and paste the word from a source segment. If I look for other words in the same source segment they are displayed successfully. OmT 2.1.7 update 1, OS X 10.6.4. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Didier Briel (didierbr) Date: 2010-07-14 16:05 Message: The o circumflex in your text is *not* a normal o circumflex, it is a strange small character "looking like" the real one. Same for the e acute in différents. I don't know how these documents are produced, and they are weird, but that's not related to OmegaT. If you search for contrôle in your source document, you will see that it isn't found either. On the other hand, if you select Contrôle in a source segment (by the way, it appears with the Dialog font with the circumflex slightly slanted, which proves it isn't a normal character), and press Ctrl+F, it is found without problem in the search window. Didier ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jean-Christophe Helary (brandelune) Date: 2010-07-14 15:41 Message: Steven, I think we have pretty much the same configuration (10.6.4, with Java 1.5 ?) but I use the repository trunk. I have created a single sentence project with "Contrôle de gestion" and I get a match with the accent. Have you checked the tokenizer ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Steven DeWitt (stevendewitt) Date: 2010-07-14 15:29 Message: Hello, Not sure what could be causing this then. For the record in the meantime, I have attached 2 JPGs for searches I performed one immediately after the other in the same project. In one of the results windows, you can clearly see that the text "contrôle" appears in the source text of the project. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Didier Briel (didierbr) Date: 2010-07-14 15:24 Message: There might be something more specific to this issue, because I cannot reproduce it. (I.e., I have no problem search "contrôle" or "tâches" in French source segments.)
