I think we should have the following option: *select searched files that displays a lit of all the files in the project source possibly ordered by: -file name -file path -file category (etc) with a check box in front of them to include them or exclude them from the search the window should display the results by file (with the file name indicated) similarly, the "reference files search" option (bottom of the search window) could allow for multiple paths to be selected by using a simple "add path" dialog. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jean-Christophe Helary (brandelune) Date: 2006-11-24 13:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=915082 Originator: YES 1) I mean files in the project not as "search in files" target. Currently only segment numbers are displayed. there is no way to know to which file belongs a segment. 2) For ex, the current localization involves a bundle and a number of other files. when I look for GUI info I want to be able to check only the contents of the bundle, all the other files are not relevant. of course, I could put the bundle into glossary form and use it from there but it would be simpler to restrict the search to the reference file. 3) well, I don't know, I suppose it depends on how one organizes projects. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Henry Pijffers (henry_pijffers) Date: 2006-11-24 11:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=545103 Originator: NO 1. When results are found in files, the filename is displayed, not the number. 2. Why would you want to exclude files from searches? It won't improve performance all that much. 3. Do you really think being able to search in multiple directories is very useful? I often do searches on my computer's filesystem, and then I just select a dir high enough in the hierarchy. I've never had the need to select multiple directories for a single search. Sounds like this is all a bit too much effort for too little gain. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=520350&aid=1601712&group_id=68187 |
