WindowsXP, Java 1.5

1 I just downloaded tj-1.2.jar, installed GL4Java, and
downloaded several TRE datafiles from the TJ website.
2 If I start TJ by double-clicking on the JAR file in
the Windows file explorer, if I try to open e.g.
23sA.tre, I get a message box saying "No tree in file".
3 If I open the command window and type "java -jar
tj-1.2.jar 23sA.tre", then TJ starts, loads the file
and displays the tree. If I then try to load e.g.
23sB.tre from the open application that is still
displaying the first tree, I get the same error message
as in (2).
4 Why can I not load the file from the File menu?

Thank you.

No longer an issue after 2.1, new parser automatically detects file types (between acceptable Nexus and Newick), but will still fail if the tree is neither.
