I think it's sometimes useful to manipulate surfaces
pixel by pixel. The fastest way is to use bigarrays.
See function surface_pixel_data and the discussion about
creating surfaces on this mailing list.
Stuff like surface_from_pixels and unsafe_blit_buffer
can be removed though.
