Feature request resulting from some work in OBI (biomaterial and protocol application branches):
Aim: create a relation bridging special kinds of dependent continuant to process:
a process modifies the dependent continuant 'state' inhering in an independent continuant.
Amputation 'results_in' quality limb count becoming 'reduced' and entity with limbs gaining a state of amputated
This can be represented by describing the participants of the process and the qualities of participants with role input and those with role output. We would essential rely on has_quality and participates_into relations. However, there is currently no way to relate processes and the consequences of processes.
The present proposal would be to have a relation that would hold between process and qualities
-*process* /confers_state/ or /confers_quality/ '*quality*'
-*quality *(acquired_by an independent continuant) /results_from/is_caused_by/ *process*
Whether this is a type level relation needs to be checked but I think it does.
A canonical decapitation confers the quality decapitated (this should hold between universal) as quality 'decapitated' can not be acquired unless a decapitation process has occurred.
(a canonical phosphorylation confers the quality/state phosphorylated)
