Hi George,

I'm looking for a quality to use in mutants (S. pombe, of course, but the term could be applicable to lots of eukaryotes) in which a mitotic or meiotic division goes wrong by segregating chromosomes unequally.

At the moment the term I've got in FYPO is "unequal meiotic chromosome segregation", with a text definition ("A cellular process phenotype in which chromosomes are not segregated equally to both spindle poles in a meiotic division.") but no xp. I could point to the same term, GO:0045132, as in the parent "abnormal meiotic chromosome segregation", but I don't know what to suggest for the quality. I'm not even sure a process quality is best (but would a physical object quality work in an xp?) .

I'm a bit confused, and would appreciate help!

Thanks,
Midori
