Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Chris Mungall (cmungall) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: dactyly terms Initial Comment: * Some of the generic dactyly terms are missing definitions * consider adding a generic "oligodactyly" (make the existing hands/feet classes subclasses) * The def of adactyly seems like a very contorted way of saying "lacks digits" * Ensure the graph is consistent with the defs. I recommend doing a test ontology in OWL * Harmonize with MP - currently inconsistent: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1109502&aid=3591357&group_id=76834 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1112722&aid=3591402&group_id=76834 |

Robinson (probins) Date: 2013-02-16 01:49 Message: I have added a term "Oligodactyly" (HP:0012165) as suggested. The definition for adactyly comes from the "Elements of Morphology" series and is considered state of the art for medical genetics. The logical definitions will require more thought. Although logically, adactyly should be a child of oligodactyly, they are different from a differential diagnosis point of view, and it would not be useful to define them in this naive way. We are hoping to start a collaborative project with the skeletome group and to revise and redo the logical definitions to capture this kind of subtlety. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1112722&aid=3591402&group_id=76834 |
