Installing on OS X

Help

  • The installation process is failing because the install.php file is not receiving the variables from the index.php form.

Specifically, the error log contains the line:

PHP Notice: Undefined variable: HTTP_POST_VARS in openbiblio/install/install.php on line 23

Has anyone else installed 0.5 on Mac OS X?  Is there something different from the installation instructions that needs to be done?

    Thanks in advance,
    Nathan

    • I have installed it on an 800 mHz g3 ibook. No special tricks. I have installed mysql, php and Apache 2 from serverlogistics (and had installed 0.4 on an entropy setup of mysql, php and the default Apache)

Can't help with the specific error, I had no trouble with the install.

This is a known problem for PHP 5, and I don't think it's MacOS X specific.  See this earlier post in this forum:

Let us know how well things work on OS X,

Actually, that post may be a bit unclear.  It isn't the part about login.php or SessionQuery that's relevant, but the part about register_long_arrays.
