hi

i am happy to report that your application (actually openobex) is the only software that can transfer files to and from my Nokia N90 phone

but there are some feature missing ...so it would be nice to have them:

1) i have to run front end with root user ... and my normal account says connection error ...so I have to do it in root ....it would be nice if this had a workaround or ,say, a parameter that can be set to avoid using root

2) in my case (i dont know if other phones have this problem to ?) i cant download directories and I just can download multiple files...

3) last night I tried to upload a filder with many files with their size between 70KB to 7MB and total size of 125 MB ...but at the end it just uploaded 53MB ...why??

4)front-end has some problems with non-ASCII names of folders (it doesn't show their contents)

    Hello,

    Thanks for your feedback!

    1) This problem can be solved by adding a new udev rule to allow your user to access the device. You can find further instructions in articles such as this:

    http://fedoraforum.org/forum/archive/index.php/t-166215.html

    2) Yeah, I made the application like that... but I will probably change that because this "feature" is often suggested. Well, wait for the next release... :)

    3) Hmm, I don't know, but I think it may be an obexftp issue.

    4) This is definitely an obexftp issue. :)

    See you,
    Daniel.

    1) thanks for reply , but i have done something like that but it doesn't work on my linux ,maybe its an issue with my system (opensuse 11)

    2) can you make it sooner rather than later....its a must feature in my case

    4) thanks ,can you contact that project leader and tell them about it(you can do it better than me because you are a good programmer but i am just a user :) )

    Hello,

    0) Because I have no idea what files and/or directories the device relies on. I don't know what could happen if the user accidentally deletes one of these files and/or directories.

    2) I was studying this feature and it's not that simple to implement. Well, unfortunately you'll have to wait (unless you want to implement it yourself :)

    0) thanks again for your answer . i thought i was killing my mobile :) . but i know what files are critical
so it would be a good feature to add that disable this warnings :)

    2) i am just a novice c++ programmer so I dont think i can help you that much :) , but i dont think its that hard :) , you just have to change your queue of files and when selecting directories ,add their contents (with folder name of course ) to the queue recursively .

    Hello,

The implementation is quite similar to what you've described, but the code is starting to make things harder to implement... So, first things first: I should clean up the mess before start working on new features. :)
