    Hello,

I'm unable to launch the pre-compiled Nyquist IDE app on my mac, running on OS X version 10.9.4.

I've tried with releases 306 to 308 but i always get the same error, something like:

"Unable to open the program NyquistIDE because it's damaged. You should move it to the trash."

I followed the instructions on the manual page http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~rbd/doc/nyquist/ (installation), downloaded the .tgz and tried to run the different releases of the application. Every version threw the same error.

Am I missing something here? How can i successfuly launch the Nyquist IDE app?

    Thanks in advance

    [SOLVED]

I was able to launch the IDE by running the executable enclosed on the package directly from the console.

As no one replied I will assume it was my mistake and not a development problem.

May not fully agree : an .exe file from inside the jnyqide folder only opens a command-line interface, not the very IDE.

The provided NyquistIDE start icon actually is a .bat file pointing at "jnyqide.jar" through a java command, so if there is some issue with Java, the .bat command results in a failure.

Curiously and I must say thanks to your comment, I eventually tried to run a java -jar from windows command line with admin privileges (Ctrl + Shift + Enter) and the error message just signaled that my Nyquist version was compiled with a newer version of JDK.

So even if my Java was updated, I actually missed the latest JDK. I furthermore ignore how much adding new "CMU > Nyquist" Registry keys was relevant to solving this ( https://www.cs.cmu.edu/~music/nyquist/readme-win.txt ).
