#847 Error upon launching NUnit GUI or consolue

When I launch the .exe for the GUI or console I get the following error in a message box titled "Unable to Initialize Services:"

Error loading settings file ----> System.Xml.XmlException : Invalid character in the given encoding. Line 1, position 6

and when clicking "Ok" does not load NUnit.

This is a fresh install of 2.5.1. I've tried reinstalling.

Incidentally, 2.4.8 now throws up the "...has encountered a problem a needs to close..." which used to work fine on my machine.

Your settings file has become corrupted in some way. If you delete it NUnit will create a new one. You can find it under ApplicationData.
