I recently was successful in patching the CS8900 driver to work with my Focus EtherLAN card for the internal NuBus expansion slot of the PowerBook 1400. The driver is working perfectly. I already wanted to tell you (Raylynn) of this as you feel responsible for the NuBus ethernet drivers but as there is probably no one except me who can use my patched driver I haven't done it yet. I also had to patch the 8390 driver because it identified my card to be 8390 based. In fact the 8390 driver doesn't do a real probe and therefore will identify most cards as 8390 based. What's even worse is that the driver registers an ethX and doesn't unregister it when it fails. > With the output of dmesg I should be able to identify > your card and let you know if it should be supported. > > For those wanting a supported card there are a number of Farallon and > Asante cards listed now on ebay (Buy it Now) for less than $10 (some as > low as $3) that are supported by the current kernel. > > Ray > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting > language > that extends applications into web and mobile media.
