Windows 7 SP2 I got 2.45 NSIS installer (300 MB). But at my system drive was only 30 MB free. Installer was located on system drive. So every time I run it crashed at the same file with error "Unable to extract file X". No matter if you have enough space on destination drive, it will fail if you don't have memory on system drive. Can this message be more informative? Please, make it happen. Because this type of check for free space must be performed _before_ installation. I was kinda sad to realize this annoying error after 2 hours of attempts to install software on slow flash-drive. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Anders (anders_k) Date: 2011-08-13 00:32 Message: Solid compression might require more space, try non solid compression. The other possible problem is that the whole installer is copied to %windir%\temp by UAC before it can display the elevation dialog (If you are using anything other than requestexecutionlevel user) This is a windows bug IMHO and there is nothing we can do about it... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=373085&aid=3389808&group_id=22049 |
