When I copy a block of color-coded R text out of Npp and into another color-enabled text editor, it loses the syntax coloring.  Is there any way to preserve it?  Thanks!

This is more a question for the Notepad++ team.  But I'm certain that the answer will be no.  the coloring is like a layer on the text.  when you copy you only get the text, and I don't think that there is an easy way to change that.

WRONG ! This is possible, halpo, thank you for your disinformation.

In Npp, go to "Complements" (I'm on a french version"
    >then submenu "NppExport"
    >then "Copy RTF to Clipboard"

now just past into your favorite text editor (works well with MS Word,  don't know if this'll work with all text editors).
