In my humble opinion the PHP syntax highlighting is too rough. (Possibly other languages as well, but I've only coded PHP in NP++ so far.)
While there are formatting options for (specifically) variables, operators, strings and so on there is also one big grey blob: reserved words.
NP++ doesn't, in it's current state (v4.4), care if a certain character sequence is a function, control structure set or whatnot.
What I would like to see is the option, possibly through some XML-file editing or whatever is deemed "good enough", to define new chracter classes or something along those lines. I.e. we, the users, can more or less edit the built in language definitions and regroup reserved words, and such, to better suit our taste.
(Personally I find it irritating that NP++ doesn't distinguish between functions and control structures, but that's just me.)
