I have a shortcut in my SendTo folder with the following properties: C:\notepadplus\notepad++.exe "%1"
When I go to a text file for example and right-click... Send To ... the shortcut for NotePad++ I get the following:
- A tab called "new 1" and an ERR: Could not open file "". window.
- When I click the "OK" button on the ERR window, the "new 1" tab disappears and the text file that I right-clicked on is then opened properly.
Anyone else getting this initial ERR window when using a SendTo shortcut for Notepad++? This is happening on both Win2000 and WinXP. There are currently no file associations with NotePad++.
From original poster:
More info - I did not use the executable installer for Notepad++. I just unzipped the npp.3.2.bin.zip file to a directory.
Thank you. That solved my problem. Now I will be using Notepad++ more and more.
Just use a normal shortcut:
