I have a number of search strings in Notepad ++ I would like to have deleted. The reason is that some of them in "search and replace" is used several times and I often choose use the wrong one.
How do I delete all previously looked after, and if I can't do it directly in Notepad ++ - which file on my HD stores this information
As far I know its not possible to do it from within Notepad++. It is stored within the config.xml file which is located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++" or possibly in your APPDATA folder depending on how you installed Notepad++. Please be aware that deleting the entire file will remove some of your other settings too. I recommend opening up the file and edit it manually, since it is easy enough. You might also want to edit it with a different text editor so that Notepad++ doesn't store and then rewrite the search history.
