I am trying to dress up an Ascii document with some boxes using Ascii 187, 188 etc. I'm not sure what the forum software will do to the following but this is an example:
I am looking at Notepad++'s Ascii Insertion Panel and the characters don't match. Ascii 200 for example should be an "╚" but it is shown as an "E" with an accent character. I know that these can be font sensitive but if I type ALT 200 I get the correct character so why is the insertion panel different?
Also, years ago I had a Dos program called Semware Editor where you could just draw the boxes. Is there a method to make that happen in Notepad++?
Looks like you're using ANSI encoding. You have to change your file encoding: Encoding -> Character Set -> Western European -> OEM 850. Then the mappings are correct. In the insertion list though, these drawing characters are not shown at all.
