In windows xp just after displaying the logo, it shows
the desktop in low resolution and nothing more

Can you be more specific ? video card, processor ?
It can be the bug found in the r6 version and earlier. Try
the new version, based from the CVS (1.98r7). It might fix

I have an Pentium 4 2.53 GHz, 512 MB DDR, Vide Card ATI 9200
Atlantis 128 MB
I already have the latest version, there is some log
somewhere to check what's happening?
Thank you again for the help.
I've placed a version (r7) this morning. Did you tried it ?
I redownloaded it 5 minutes ago, still no way
So you need to download the source code with CVS, recompile
with _DEBUG and see by yourself.
There is a log mode when using that mode. Also in debug, it
runs in a window, so it's easier to track down.
can you provide me a compiled binary with debug flag? i dont
have visual studio with me and i think i wont be able to
Yes, I can do that, but this will take me some time (there
is many debug DLLs to add + I need to add an integrated
debugger in it).
My guess it's a video card related (not OS related because
it even works with WinXP 64bit).
According the tests we've done, the game is NOT crashing,
simply, the OpenGL page flipping is failing on your video
card, so you can't set what's going one I think the reasons
could be :
- Incorrect refresh rate ?
- Unsupported screen resolution ?
- Desktop not set to 32bit : It's a limitation of OpenGL on
- You can edit the file
C:\Documents and Settings\..\My Documents\No Gravity
Look at ResolutionX and ResolutionY and set the value to the
same resolution than your desktop.
Setting resolution to 1280x1024 I got it past the logo, I
created a pilot but when loading training mission it crashed
(this time it really crashed) complaining about a runtime
error in v3xrend.c line 383
Hope this help. Now the I got past the logo I'm more eager
to play it, seems wonderful, please help me. I'll try it on
other computers too if this could help.
The assert at line 383 is OK - should be removed, a leftover
of the BeOS version - I didn't tried in _DEBUG with OpenGL
for a long time.
Now, try the 'official' version (r7). and set the parameters
to 1280x1024 in the .ini file.
So apparently, your screen is unable to display at 640x480.
Can you send me the latest debug.txt (based from the last
version). It has information about the pixel format and the
screen resolution /refresh rate in it ?
I will post an update w32_gl.cpp, with some major rewrite
(better initialization handling). I think this might help.
Else, the actuall version of the game is reported to work
fine on most machine (all nVidia video cards and high end
Fixed in the 1.98r8 ? Waiting for feebacks.
I wasn't able to reply by email, anyway the latest version
worked correctly with both resolutions. Thx for the help.
