Jack and I got another release (0.3) up on the site and updated our
website. I have been working on a Debian Linux packaging system in
the CVS repository as well as creating scripts to launch and run the
hsql (database), nexistd (server) and nexist (client) applications.
Your comments are welcome.
It was brought to our attention by Paul Webster that all of the
required files for running Nexist are not in the 0.3 release. Thank
you Paul for pointing this out. The 0.5 release should have everything
Part of this is creating things like database initialization routines
and such. These aren't the sexy part of application development, but
they sure are necessary for people to begin using nexist! We already
have a set of SQL commands that work, so we just need to code them
into the application. Any people that know or want a project to learn
Java that would like to lend a hand, this is a great opportunity to help
us out. This is something that's very necessary for the project and
simple to do.
Jack and I plan to get a 0.5 release out "real soon." I will try to
keep people more informed than I did these last few months. Thanks
for your interest in Nexist.
