I compiled nethogs on debian sarge and got this warning in syslog:

Jun 5 13:05:22 perthimc kernel: nethogs uses obsolete (PF_INET,SOCK_PACKET)

That box is using the sarge kernel - linux 2.6.8.

I forgot to mention this is the nethogs debian package, version 0.6.0.

I confirm that I get this same message in /var/log/messages
on Debian "testing" (preparation for the next stable release
"etch"). I have not yet verified whether something is
    broken; maybe it's just noise.

Euhm, that "nobody" in the message of 2006-06-06 20:59 was
    me. :)

You can safely ignore this warning.

Note to self: remove this warning by changing SOCK_PACKET to
SOCK_RAW in packet.cpp. None of the rest of the code needs
to be changed, we don't use the part that changed between
    SOCK_PACKET and SOCK_RAW/DGRAM anyway.
