Category: agent Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Stephen (yeochins) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Multiple Network Adapters and SNMPv1 trap conversions Initial Comment: I have a system that has multiple network adapters. When Net-SNMP converts a v2 notification into a v1 trap to be sent to a v1 trap sink, the Agent Address field for the v1 trap seems to take the IP address of the default network adapter. However, the trap sink is only accessible on the second network adapter. The packet is correctly sent on the second network adapter - however the Agent Address is that of the first network adapter causing various NOC's to reject the trap. Is there a configuration based solution or a Net-SNMP version which resolves this issue? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Dave Shield (dts12) Date: 2009-12-01 12:12 Message: $ man snmp.conf clientaddr [<transport-specifier>:]<transport-address> specifies the source address to be used by command-line applications when sending SNMP requests. See snmpcmd(1) for more information about the format of addresses. This value is also used by snmpd when generating notifications. <=== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112694&aid=2832830&group_id=12694 |
