Category: snmptrapd Group: linux Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Marcus Haebler (mcwmp) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Authentication fails for traps with authPriv mode & SHA+DES Initial Comment: Authentication fails for traps in authPriv SHA+DES mode. authPriv MD5+DES works fine. I have the following two users in snmptrapd.conf: createUser -e 0x3133352E3131322E3138302E39322331363100 authenc1 SHA test1234 DES test4321 createUser -e 0x3133352E3131322E3138302E39322331363100 authenc2 MD5 test1234 DES test4321 When I switch my agent to send traps with authenc1 using SHA+DES I see Authentication failed for authenc1 The authenc2 user which uses MD5+DES has no issues. AuthNoPriv with SHA works fine as well. Looking at a packet captures of the two different traps in Wireshark I don't see a problem. Version: $ /usr/sbin/snmptrapd -v NET-SNMP Version: 5.4 Web: http://www.net-snmp.org/ Email: net...@li... To be more precise this is $ rpm -q -f /usr/sbin/snmptrapd net-snmp-5.4-18.fc7 Thanks, Marcus ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112694&aid=2068290&group_id=12694 |
