Category: tag-balancer Group: 1.9.7 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: jwerner (bug55cv) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Closing </a> inserted at the wrong position Initial Comment: Consider this wrong HTML code: <html> <head> <title>Foo</title> </head> <body> <a href="#"> <table> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> The missing closing </a> tag is inserted as follows: <html> <head> <title>Foo</title> </head> <body> <a href="#"> <table> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> </table> </a> </body> </html> According to the HTML specification, this is invalid HTML since <a> must not contain block elements. Firefox, for example, closes <a> before the table.
