Hallo,
as several linux distributions changed to unicode/utf-8
character set by default, it would be very useful to
have it supported in nedit.

    This is crucial feature.
    Without UTF-8 support NEdit looks like abandoned piece of software (from newcomer's perspective).

     
  • I agree. UTF-8 support is the biggest hole in nedit. It is becoming more common all the time for nedit to not work for what I need to do because of its lack of handling UTF-8 characters. There was a patch submitted in 2004, but it's probably time for this to become part of the mainstream application. I love nedit! I just wish the UTF-8 support was there.
