A default behaviour / preference entry to open files
r/o via ctrl-o ctrl-y
would be great to avoid inadvertent changes while only
browsing
through sources. Better still - override the default by
a command line
option. The current setting for the window should be
inherited to
the windows opened.

    Can be done already with a macro, even from the command
    line. Confirm set_locked() and the -do option (together with
    the nc client).
