#480 Segmentation fault on "save"

When nedit is started without a file argument, typing
into the
blank window and then choosing "save" or "save as" from
the file menu causes a segmentation fault. This does
NOT occur
when nedit is started with a file name, even if the
file is empty.
This behavior started recently, so I suspect that I
inadvertently
changed something about my system. Removing the .nedit
file and replacing in with the version 5.4 .nedit file
causes a segmentation fault on "save defaults". I
produced the faulting behavior when running nedit under
strace, but there was no
obvious cause for the problem, which was
munmap(0x9fc6f4e3, 3701656021) = -1 EINVAL
(Invalid argument)

Try to run nedit in a fresh new directory, like this:

    bash$ mkdir tmp
    bash$ cd tmp
    bash$ NEDIT_HOME=. nedit

Just to see if the rc files mighe be causing any trouble.

    Two issues here:
    1. NEdit segfaults on save.
    2. NEdit segfaults while saving defaults.

Could you provide backtraces for either case? Could you send
us the last 10 lines from the strace run?
