Operating system: Solaris 5.8.
Bug refers to nedit-5.4RC1.
1) Preferences -> Default Settings -> Colors:
set "Text Area Background" to white and "ok" the
dialog.
2) Split the window (<Ctrl><2>). The new window has
the old text area background color - not white! The old
window is still white. Both windows will turn white upon
newly setting "Text Area Background" to white.

    Believe this is already fixed in CVS, will be in the 5.4
    release.
