On 2.6.14-rc2, ndiswrapper compiles and loads OK, but I am unable to make a connection to my LAN. As suggested in the documentation, I compiled with the DEBUG option and am attaching the output of dmesg. Even with a dmesg buffer of 2^17, it overflowed with DEBUG=3; therefore, this was done with DEBUG=2. I also rebuilt 2.6.13 with a larger buffer and captured the DEBUG messages. With the exception of different addresses, the calls for the two systems are identical until a call to ndis_translate_scan, as shown if the differences below: 1c1 < Linux version 2.6.13 (root@larrylap) (gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809)) #4 Wed Sep 21 19:45:13 CDT 2005 --- > Linux version 2.6.14-rc2 (finger@larrylap) (gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809)) #12 PREEMPT Wed Sep 21 14:38:44 CDT 2005 .... snip.... 822c822,825 < ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:973): Enter e4669000, e4d86bfc --- > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:973): Enter e4e4b000, e4c33bfc > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:1138): event = e4e4b0e3, current_val = e4e4b0c2 > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:1140): Exit > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:973): Enter e4e4b0e3, e4c33ca8 824c827 < ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:1138): event = e4669132, current_val = e46690c6 --- > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:1138): event = e4e4b201, current_val = e4e4b1a1 827,842d829 < ndiswrapper (wpa_set_auth_alg:2214): 0 < ndiswrapper (set_auth_mode:675): Exit < ndiswrapper (wpa_set_auth_alg:2218): Exit < ndiswrapper (wpa_set_privacy_filter:2190): Enter filter: 1 < ndiswrapper (set_privacy_filter:2171): Enter filter: 1 < ndiswrapper (set_privacy_filter:2180): Exit < ndiswrapper (wpa_set_privacy_filter:2197): Exit < ndiswrapper (wpa_associate:2044): Enter < ndiswrapper (wpa_associate:2075): key_mgmt_suite = 1, pairwise_suite = 2, group_suite= 2 < ndiswrapper (set_privacy_filter:2171): Enter filter: 1 < ndiswrapper (set_privacy_filter:2180): Exit < ndiswrapper (set_auth_mode:675): Exit < ndiswrapper (set_encr_mode:699): Exit < ndiswrapper (set_essid:53): ssid = 'lwfdjf' < ndiswrapper (set_essid:63): Exit < ndiswrapper (wpa_associate:2145): Exit 864c851,854 < ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:973): Enter e4669000, e52f0bfc --- > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:973): Enter e4f38000, e4d68bfc > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:1138): event = e4f380e3, current_val = e4f380c2 > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:1140): Exit > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:973): Enter e4f380e3, e4d68ca8 866c856 < ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:1138): event = e4669132, current_val = e46690c6 --- > ndiswrapper (ndis_translate_scan:1138): event = e4f38201, current_val = e4f381a1 I would appreciate any help on this subject. I expect that the problem lies in the changes in the kernel, but I don't expect any help from those developers. Larry |

I am aware of the problem (see CVS log for HEAD branch). This issue, howe= ver, is with wpa_supplicant, apparently. Jouni Malinen (author of wpa_supplica= nt) said this issue will be fixed in the next few days. Giri |
