I'm trying to get a Linksys WUSB54Gv4 working with ndiswrapper, and so
far I have had good "luck" doing so.
After i modprobe'd ndiswrapper it registers wlan0 as I expect and
everything looks as it should, but no matter what I have tried so far I
can get it to associate with my AP. I seems that i does not find it at all!
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"Santas Workshop" Nickname:"none"
Mode:Auto Frequency:2.437 GHz Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00
Bit Rate=11 Mb/s Tx-Power:20 dBm Sensitivity=-121 dBm
RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr=2346 B
Encryption key:11BD-E711-2522-7B30-8A1B-55BA-52 Security
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
which looks just fine, except the Access Point MAC address is all 0, and
the fact that I am unable to change Mode or Rate via iwconfig wlan0
I'm using kernel 2.6.14 with ndiswrapper 1.5.
So far I have tried to completly remove ndiswrapper, with make uninstall
and remove /etc/ndiswrapper/rt2500usb, and install once again from
source. (I read that it might help if I had older versions of
ndiswrapper installed as well). Unfortuanely I got the same result as
I stumpled across
and did the:
modprobe -r ehci-hcd
modprobe ehci-hcd log2_irq_thresh=4
but that did not help either
Have anyone else got the WUSB54Gv4 working? I'm using kernel 2.6.14,
ndiswrapper 1.5 and debian.
