It's been a while since a couple of project members decided the wiki
needed a functional facelift at least, if not some serious lobotomic
In the process, we decided we'd try out a couple of other products that
provided similar functionality, but given the amount of the information
already present in phpWiki, the former product chosen for dockeeping,
the preferred solution was upgrading it to a newer version that came
with (working) ACLs and moderation, in order to prevent spammers from
entering bogus information into the wiki.
phpWiki is unfortunately not the friendliest of web applications, and
the development cycle really isn't too short, so we decided that instead
of taking the risk of waiting for phpWiki 1.3.11 to be released, which
might not even resolve all of our problems, we'd rather port the
existing documentation over to another product, mediaWiki, which allows
access control on the basis of logins, created by users themselves.
If you would like to help in maintaining documentation, please feel free
to contact me or any of the other project members to assist you in
creating your account and help you out in case you have any
content-related dillemas, technical troubles, etc. You are also kindly
asked to report any issues you may find with the existing documentation
either to me, the project members or the list.
Your help is more than welcome.
Also, I would like to express special thanks to giri and mmp for the
immense work they've done in porting the existing documentation over to
