Trying 0.8rc1 with an rtl8180 card on debian. No success ...
Using the net8180.inf version 1.69 from Realtek (latest as of today).
The card runs pretty well with this driver under 0.7 and kernel 2.4.20,
although my testing was not very thorough. No success with 0.7 and
What I see for 0.8rc1 is:
(1) kernel 2.4.20-3-686 (version 2.4.20-9): can't compile (undefined
symbol, something atomic IIRC. If it is important, let me know
and I'll try again).
(2) kernel 2.6.5-1-686 (version 2.6.5-4): compiles OK, one warning
*** Warning: Overriding SUBDIRS on the command line can cause
Installs apparently ok, recognises the card but there is sometimes a
ndiswrapper: Buggy ndis driver trying to use unintilized spinlock.
Trying to recover ... ok
Independently of the appearance of the message, the link cannot be
established (and the "link" led on the card remains unlit)
PS: note the typo in the message!
I am ow submitting this message using that card under linuxant's
driverloader and the same driver under 2.6.5, seems to be working fine.
Please advise of any tests I can do to help debug the ndiswrapper, or
additional info that might be of help And many thanks for the great work!
