Hello, and thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I am running Mandrake 10 Community, and the card I'm trying to use with
ndiswrapper 0.6 is a D-Link DWL-G520, revision B. This uses an Atheros
chipset, and while I would have used the MadWiFi drivers, they did not
compile correctly, and I'm too much of a Linux newbie to figure out what
I installed ndiswrapper 0.6, and ran iwconfig, as the help file says.
After initializing all the appropriate drivers and everything, my card
powered up correctly (as indicated by the leds on the back). However, I
cannot seem to connect to my D-Link router. I think the issue lies in my
WEP key... the blink code is the same as in Windows98 when an incorrect
WEP was entered. I am using a 128-bit hexadecimal WEP key, which I
typed into iwconfig. When I ran iwconfig again, it showed me a key
completely different from what I had typed in.
Do I need to edit some config file somewhere to give it the appropriate
WEP... or did I not install something right?
