The ndiswrapper WIKI and Google searches were of no help. The drivers from serialmonkey were useless as usual. The use of the CD that came with the card showed that the driver was installed and the hardware is present but iwconfig didn't show wlanX or ethX for the card so it didn't work. dmesg had no output for the card but did show that ndiswrapper was installed. It turned out that when I installed the drivers for the USB card under Windows 2000 the name of the driver is rt2500usb.sys but ndiswrapper installed wusb54g2 from the CD. So, I removed that and ran ndiswrapper -i /mnt/windows/..../rt2500usb.inf and that got the card working. It sucks having to maintain a windows partition to make this stuff work. |
