First of all: Thanks for this project!
I just got WLAN on my HP nx7000 (this model is called x1000 in the US)
working. It has the standard Centrino wireless card.
I'm using Debian Sarge with Kernel 2.6.0 and ndiswrapper CVS from 03/12/18.
On my first try (using Dell's wlan drivers, which are known to have a little
more transmit power), loading the driver killed the keyboard driver (mouse
still working). Now I tried with the ASUS centrino-drivers from the
ndiswrapper page and it's working almost perfect now. I just transfered
~160mb from one machine to another in ad-hoc mode and everything went fine
and at full speed (~500kbyte/s, 128bit encrypted connection).
However, I had to execute my little net-script twice (it just sets mode, essid
and key) to get the connection running and wavemon doesn't work yet:
fatal error: could not get range information
However, I'm just happy that all my notebook-internal components, including
wlan, are working under linux now :-)
