I'm using a Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG wlan adapter in my HP NX5000
notebook (not the version that is shipped with SuSE). I have installed
the driver which is recommended for this card in the cards list
(ftp://aiedownload.intel.com/df-support/7440/eng/intel wireless proset -
126.96.36.199 generic .exe). After modprobe ndiswrapper (not directly, a few
seconds later), the system hangs for a while (about 30 seconds).
Afterwards the card works without any problems.
The problem seems to have something to do with the RF switch. This swich
works fine with ndiswrapper. But the system doesn't hang if the swich
(which is just a button) wasn't turned on in the previous windows or
linux session (on/off state is always restored by ndiswrapper or the
windows driver), unless I press the wlan botton directly afer the
modprobe command. If I wait for some seconds before swiching wlan on,
everything works fine.
dmesg shows the following messages (when it hanged):
ndiswrapper version 0.11+CVS loaded (preempt=yes,smp=no)
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:01:04.0[A] -> GSI 21 (level, low) -> IRQ 21

I'm using Kernel 2.6.9 on my LFS system and a recent CVS version of
ndiswrapper. But I had the same problems on SuSE with the kernel and
ndiswrapper version shipped with the distro. I tried the 16k stack patch
from Linuxant and I tried to deactivate preemt. But all this made no
Thanks in advance
