I have been thinking that often times it is nice to be able to run
several different kernels using different versions of ndiswrapper,
particularly when one is trying to figure out problems. The problem
with this is that the format in /etc/ndiswrapper has changed several
times so that drivers need to be reinstalled, as
does /sbin/loadndisdriver. Would it be possible to version somehow both
of these so that you could have multiple ndiswrapper versions and
associated drivers installed at the same time without conflicting?
For example, you could create directories inside of /etc/ndiswrapper of
inside of which the drivers would go. /sbin/loadndisdriver would have
to know which conf file version it can read.
You would also need to perhaps rename /sbin/loadndisdriver
to /sbin/loadndisdriver_conf_v1 or something like that so they didn't
Perhaps there is a more eloquent solution. Ideas?
