Are there any plans or work in progress to make ndiswrapper work with th
Sis162 chipset (Netgear MA111v2 and Trendnet TEW229-UBv2)?
I'm willing to help; I think the pieces of the puzzle are available. I
have Linux drivers (and sourcecode) from Sis that work (crudely) with
kernel 2.4.20-8 for me and I have the WinXP drivers for the chipset. I've
written a lot of C-code, but never driver development. The latest release
of ndiswrapper even gives positive output from iwconfig; it just scan the
AP. The system log message:
Jan 31 09:49:47 localhost kernel: ndiswrapper (IofCallDriver:930):
major_fn 00000000 NOT IMPLEMENTED!
keeps repeating, so something is not working. Does anyone have any
direction as to what function is not working and why? I'm assuming it is
one of the WinXP driver functions, but this output does not tell me which
function, its purpose, and why it is not implemented.
My current options are staying with 2.4.20 and using the provided Linux
drivers, or buying a new USB wireless device, but I'd like to upgrade and
not buy additional hardware...
