Hey guys- I'm trying to set up a router with a spiffie new Linksys usb wireless thingy, and am having a bit of trouble: I've gotten ndiswrapper installed and everything, kernel is compiled correctly, etc, but the ndiswrapper module is having trouble reading the driver file (it gives the error "unable to prepare driver 'wusb54gs'). I initially tried to use version 1.0-rc1, but it made modprobe hang while installing the module, and reverting to v0.12 got it a bit farther. I've tracked it down a bit - to pe_loader.c, check_nt_hdr()... In the first few lines, it runs memcmp(...), and finds that the magic something in the header of my driver (the string {'E', 0}) isn't what it should be (string {'P', 'E', 0, 0}). Any help? It's a 2.6.10 box, btw - GCC 3.4.2 (I think - it's a clean install of Fedora 3) The driver is available at http://www.linksys.com/download/driver.asp?dlid=138&osid=6 Thanks! -Brian Shirk P.S. I hope this doesn't go through twice or anything - it looks like it got dropped last night. Also, it looks like Ray's problem may be the same exact thing - it's probably the same chip since it's a GS, and the trace goes to the same place. |
