Hi Giri. More news.

I tried another driver, called HSFp_WinXP.zip (downloaded from the same website).

The inf file il called genhsf5 and it's the correct driver for my modem. With this driver ndiswrapper -l shows "hardware present" without the need of the "-d" option.

I modifid:
 #define MAX_DRIVER_PE_IMAGES 4
to
#define MAX_DRIVER_PE_IMAGES 8

in ndiswrapper.h - line 67, recompiled driver and loader.

Reloading ndiswrapper now I get:

Dec  9 16:07:17 tycho loadndisdriver: loadndisdriver: load_driver(324): file hxfsetup.exe is ignored
Dec  9 16:07:17 tycho loadndisdriver: loadndisdriver: load_driver(324): file mdmxsdk.dll is ignored

Hi Giri.
This release works perfectly as usual with my RTL8180L card. Thanks again for your work.

With this release, ndiswrapper implements Windows Driver Model (WDM),
so support for other WDM drivers can be added easily. Athfmwdl driver
explained above is one such driver.

I tried to use ndiswrapper  with my  Conexant HSF softmodem with no luck. The driver is called HSFac97_WinXP.zip, downloaded from  conexant.com.

This driver is composed by a .inf , a .dll and 7 .sys.

lspci says:

02:02.0 Communication controller: Conexant HSF 56k Data/Fax Modem (rev 01)
        Subsystem: Compaq Computer Corporation Seminole 1
        Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 5
        Memory at e0200000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
        I/O ports at 2440 [size=8]
        Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2

lspci -n says:
....
02:02.0 Class 0780: 14f1:2013 (rev 01)
....

using ndiswrapper -i UCMNCM5.inf
ndiswrapper -d 14f1:2013 ucmncm5

returns with "driver present, hardware present"

So far, everything seems OK.

Unfortunately, reloading ndiswrapper modules gives in /var/log/messages :

Dec  7 22:26:40 tycho loadndisdriver: loadndisdriver: load_driver(325): too many .sys files for driver ucmncm5
Dec  7 22:26:40 tycho kernel: ndiswrapper (load_wrap_driver:112): loadndiswrapper failed (65280); check system log for messages from 'loadndisdriver'
Dec  7 22:26:40 tycho kernel: ndiswrapper (load_wrap_driver:112): loadndiswrapper failed (65280); check system log for messages from 'loadndisdriver'

I tried modifying this value in ndiswrapper.h :

 #define MAX_DRIVER_PE_IMAGES 4

with no luck.

If you're intersted in some more details please let me know. I can send you the driver if you like (download link is http://www.conexant.com/support/files/HSFac97_WinXP.zip ).

Best regards,
Fabio
