Hello,
in my laptop (Acer Aspire 5022) is (unfortunatelly?) a Broadcom-WLAN-chip
(4318). So I have to try with ndiswrapper. I'm using fedora core 4 x86_64. I found a great howto of ndiswrapper. But unfortunatelly I don't get it working. :(

I did following:
[root@Turion 80211g]# ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf
Installing bcmwl5
Forcing parameter IBSSGMode|0 to IBSSGMode|2
[root@Turion 80211g]# ndiswrapper -l
Installed ndis drivers:
bcmwl5  driver present, hardware present
[root@Turion 80211g]#

Here you can see my Win64-Driver is working. And the 4318-chip is found. Then I entered following:

[root@Turion 80211g]# modprobe ndiswrapper

After that, I looked into dmesg:
>>>
>>>ndiswrapper version 1.2 loaded (preempt=no,smp=no)
ndiswrapper: driver bcmwl5 (Broadcom,02/11/2005, 3.100.64.0) loaded
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:06:05.0[A] -> Link [LNKF] -> GSI 10 (level, low) ->
IRQ 10
ndiswrapper: using irq 10
wlan0: ndiswrapper ethernet device 00:0e:9b:cc:a5:e9 using driver bcmwl5,
configuration file 14E4:4318.5.conf
wlan0: encryption modes supported: WEP, WPA with TKIP, WPA with AES/CCMP
<<<

It look good, doesn't it?

[root@Turion 80211g]# iwconfig

There is a warning about different versions (17, 18). How can I resolve it? If I want to scan APs, it doesn't find anything. :(

[root@Turion 80211g]# iwlist wlan0 scan

wlan0     No scan results
[root@Turion 80211g]#

Then I did try to enter essid, webkey and try to get IP by using DHCP, it doesn't work. :( Do anyone of you have any idea how to get it work? I did download the Broadcom-64bit-driver from www.acer.de, which works fine with WinXP 64Bit edition.

Thank you!
