    crash analysis

  • Hi dave,

the crash is (probably) the result of a stack corruption that has happened a long time ago in a function far far away.
I guess IoBuildDeviceIoControlRequest has built a corrupt IRP (IO Request Packet) due to a stack corruption. The IRP has then hung around, until IofCompleteRequest tried to finish the request. The crash most likely appeared when using irp->user_status or irp->user_event.

In case you aren't interested in these details (like most people): Just try the patch from http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2948988&group_id=93482&atid=604452.

    Best regards,

    Dirk
