We use NCO to form climatologies of various monthly and
daily netcdf datasets. In order to form a file wich has
the climatology for each month, we have to separately
create the climatology for each month and then
concatenate the (12) temporary files together.
This is probably the most common thing we do other than
edit attributes. Is it possible to have nco code for a
12 month climo w/one
call rather than needing a script with 13 calls?

I apologize if this is not the place to ask this
question or, if it can already be done.

    Hi,

There is no better way to do this than the approach you are
taking. I can't think of any algorithm that would be generic
enough to be worth putting into NCO. The best thing to do
is to just use consisten file names that allow you to
generate your climatologies with a script.
The best place to discuss this is in the NCO discussion forum.

    Thanks,
    Charlie

Note that the ncra/ncrcat duration (DRN) feature/switch introduced in 4.2.1 does some of what this user wants.
