This NCID (Network Caller ID) release adds some fixes and systemd scripts for Fedora.
The ncidd server fix removes a blank space in front of a phone number caused by some modems not in complete compliance to the specification. The fix was applied to all Caller ID text lines received from modems.
The sip2ncid gateway has a fix to label outgoing and incoming calls correctly when a PBX does not support the REGISTER packet, which is normally used to determine incoming and outgoing calls.
Fedora distribution: the init scripts used by the "service" command were replaced by service scripts used by the "systemctl" command. The source still contains the init scripts for older versions of Fedora that require it.
TiVo distribution: Removed the "rmpid" option in the startncid shell script. The new stopncid shell script was added to terminate all NCID programs that are running. Fix for the ncid-tivo module that eliminates @stdout from being displayed after the screen is cleared on TiVo HD's. Updated comments on the third party ncid-fly display module. The module prevents a TiVo reboot if a call comes in when using a HME app. The initmodem shell script was modified to use pgrep instead of ps.
IMPORTANT: The sip2ncid gateway should be used in place of the ncidsip gateway. The ncidsip gateway is obsolete and will be removed in a future release.
IMPORTANT: Fedora 17 may not default to the correct network interface when using sip2ncid. If it aborts use "sudo sip2ncid -l" to determine which network interface to use. Here is a list produced with Fedora 17:
usbmon1 : USB bus number 1 usbmon2 : USB bus number 2 usbmon3 : USB bus number 3 usbmon4 : USB bus number 4 p10p1 : No description available any : Pseudo-device that captures on all interfaces lo : Loopback device
The correct network interface to use for the above is p10p1
IMPORTANT: Configuration files have changed is the last few releases. Please update all configuration files to take advantage of new options and to make sure obsolete options are no longer accessible. Obsolete options appear to work but really do nothing and will be removed in a future release.
