I am proud to announce the release of the new version 1.8 of NagVis. With this version we finalize the developments of the last couple of months.
Compared to the last stable release 1.7, a lot of interesting things have been added.
New object: Dynamic groups
It uses livestatus filters to create a grouping object of different hosts or services matching this filter.
New object: Aggregations
Used for displaying aggregated information, currently used together with the Check_MK Business Intelligence backend to display the states of aggregations and their elements.... read more
This release introduces a new backend (mkbi) for fetching aggregated data from Check_MK Business Intelligence. Take a look at the documentation for details how to use this backend. Besides that the release contains some bug fixes.

We had some mixup with the version number in the 1.8rc1 release, this new release 1.8rc2 fixes this and also a small bug where host- and service group aliases were not processed correctly.

The development of NagVis 1.8 started several months ago. Since the changes to the 1.8 code have not been that much in the last days and several users already deployed the 1.8 daily builds successfully in their environment, we decided to release the current code as first beta release.

It is time for NagVis 1.7.7. This release includes a small set of feature changes. mainly related to the automap.
We implemented "on demand" maps. Maps which only need a basic configuration of basic parameters like automaps and geomaps can now be configured and created on demand by URL parameters. This mode is reached by simply calling the map URL without "show=" parameter and a bunch of parameters for the global section of the map instead.... read more

NagVis 1.7.1 is the first small maintenance release for the shortly released NagVis 1.7 versions. It comes with a collection of small bugfixes mainly for the javascript frontend. It also includes a new feature which is a new type of object called "container". NagVis 1.7b3 comes with a lot of bugfixes in frontend and core. We have tested the most important features with Internet Explorer 8 and 9 and fixed several bugs in the frontends javascript code.
This version includes a feature change which affects all iconsets. It is now possible to display the major states (CRIT, WARN, ...) when the states are acknowledged or in downtime by having different icons for each case. There have not been many changes since the first beta release of NagVis 1.7. There might be different reasons for that, either there are so less bugs or there are not enough testers. Don't know exactly. But we want to get further.

Today it is NagVis release day. Today we release version 1.6.6 as a new patch release for the stable NagVis version. It includes several minor fixes in the frontend and the NagVis core code. Additionally it includes an updated french language file with improved translations. The second release is the first beta release of the NagVis 1.7 branch. NagVis 1.7 introduces a new feature named "map sources". Using map sources it is possible to make maps dynamically by providing one or several map source plugins. One map source plugin comes as php script which can modify the map configuration read from the configuation file. Another new feature, which is in fact one map source, is the geomap.
