Today it is NagVis release day. Today we release version 1.6.6 as a new patch release for the stable NagVis version. It includes several minor fixes in the frontend and the NagVis core code. Additionally it includes an updated french language file with improved translations. For a view on the changes in NagVis 1.6.6 have a look at the changelog (http://www.nagvis.org/downloads/changelog/1.6.6).
The second release is the first beta release of the NagVis 1.7 branch. NagVis 1.7 introduces a new feature named "map sources". Using map sources it is possible to make maps dynamically by providing one or several map source plugins. One map source plugin comes as php script which can modify the map configuration read from the configuation file. Another new feature, which is in fact one map source, is the geomap. The geomap is a php plugin which is able to position objects on geographical maps using their GPS coordinates. Take a look at the documentation for details.
One new frontend features has been implemented: Map zooming. It is now possible to zoom NagVis maps based on a zoom factor. The zoom factor can be modified using the "action -> modify view" menu.
