    Hey -

So I just bought a new MediaMVP with the hopes of using it in our kitchen.

I have a mythtv backend downstairs. Right now, I'm going the "easy route" to get things going as a test. I've installed the MVP software on my laptop (windows xp) and replaced the dongle.bin with the one from this link:

    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=103474&package_id=111160&release_id=555254

I'm running an SVN version from a couple of weeks ago (0.21)

I then boot up the MVP and it loads up fine. I specified my Mythbox's IP in the settings.

I can see my recordings listed. I pick a recording then I get the Connection is Lost error message.

Any idea as to what the problem is?

    Thanks!
    Brad

Have you taken a look at this?  While I was not the brains behind the wiki, I helped a lot with the grunt work.  Perhaps it can steer you to success.

Other than what's there, I can offer little else in terms of assistance as I'm no longer running Myth.

I think I've seen this reported on the mailing list. I don't recall what the solution was. Check the mailing list archives, and/or post your question there, where you will reach more people.

      Yeah I figured it out.

The database host server on my machine was set to localhost.

I switched it to it's IP and all was well.

      Thanks!
