  • Could you download http://www.dependencywalker.com/ and tell me which DLLs it depends on? That will tell me if it uses D3D9 or D3D8.

      It looks like D3D8:

       [ ] D3D8.DLL
            [ ] D3D8THK.DLL
                 [ ^ ] GDI32.DLL
                 [ ^ ] MSVCRT.DLL
                 [ ^ ] KERNEL32.DLL
            [ ^ ] MSVCRT.DLL
            [ ^ ] USER32.DLL
            [ ^ ] ADVAPI32.DLL
            [ ^ ] VERSION.DLL
            [ ^ ] GDI32.DLL
            [ ^ ] KERNEL32.DLL
                 [F^ ] NTDLL.DLL
       [ ] DINPUT8.DLL
            [ ^ ] MSVCRT.DLL
            [ ^ ] KERNEL32.DLL
                 [F^ ] NTDLL.DLL
            [ ^ ] ADVAPI32.DLL
            [ ^ ] USER32.DLL

Is it possible to add D3D8 support? It would be very nice, since WarRock is one of the most important online FPS games.

      sincerely

      • We have no plans of adding D3D8 support. If we are to add support for more overlay types, D3D10 will probably be first.

Is it possible, if not already being worked on, to add overlay support to
Guild Wars 2? Just used the dependency walker as suggested from a previous
response, and found the GW2 supports both D3D9 and D3D10. However in the
current snapshot it only has a plugin that supports Guild Wars. There is a
workaround to get the overlay to work with GW2 but I dont like the approach
    for it.

@khroto: A new thread for this separate issue (not related to this topic from
2007, only in broader terms) would have been better …

It is technically possible and we’re waiting for it.
    See our Overlay wiki page.
