In Mac OS 10.6.8 with Mumble 1.2.3a, the Audio Input options show "Echo" as being disabled and not selectable using built-in microphone on macbook pro. Do I need to install anything else in order to get this working?
The option is disabled because OS X has no API to get all audio output which is necessary for echo cancellation.
That's a bummer - any idea how google talk or skype is able to implement this feature on os x? Thanks for the quick response and help :)
Just throwing this out as an option as gtalk may go lower level than the coreaudio api. What if you were able to bundle in Soundflower or let us download it separately? From there, we could route our output or input through Soundflower, and you might be able to implement an interface for that. Just an idea that I'm throwing out there. I believe the application "iShowU HD" does something very similar.
