I recently noticed the format of xml collection files is has changed?
In some files, cards are listed like:

<mcp>
  <card>
    <id>107096</id>
    <name>Mizzium Transreliquat</name>
    <edition>Guildpact</edition>
  </card>
  <count>2</count>
  <location>Collections/haves - Tino</location>
  <ownership>true</ownership>
</mcp>

in (newer?) files, cards are listed like:

<mcp>
  <card>
    <id>6053</id>
    <name>Exalted Dragon</name>
    <edition>Exodus</edition>
  </card>
  <id>6053</id>
  <name>Exalted Dragon</name>
  <cost>{4}{W}{W}</cost>
  <type>Creature - Dragon</type>
  <power>5</power>
  <toughness>5</toughness>
  <oracleText>Flying&lt;br&gt;Exalted Dragon can't attack unless you sacrifice a land.</oracleText>
  <edition>Exodus</edition>
  <rarity>Rare</rarity>
  <rating>1.716</rating>
  <artist>Matthew Wilson</artist>
  <num>6</num>
  <text>Flying&lt;br&gt;Exalted Dragon can't attack unless you sacrifice a land.</text>
  <properties>{LEGALITY=}</properties>
  <count>1</count>
  <location>Collections/melissa</location>
  <ownership>true</ownership>
</mcp>

Where does this differnce comes from?

I prefer the first version, all additional info is located in the MagicDB file.

Discussion

  • The longer one was the bug, only it should only contains essential field, not duplicates from database. If you do some operation which trigger save of the file it should be fixed.
